I would just get the m42 radiator. It's going to cool substantially better, and all the hoses line up like factory. It doesn't require much work to fit them either.

Yeah I used the E36 radiator. I guess a perk is the m10 radiator already has the right switch to quickly and easily install an efan. But all I had to do was buy a Husqavarna switch...

I used one (cut) m42 hose and had to find another tho.

This is the temp switch part number you need for a single speed e-fan. Make sure it's the 82c one and not the 91c one. I've used the FAE branded one on two cars now without an issue.

I mean, it’s a very small extra step to use the m42 two-speed setup with two relays. You can even buy the relays new, whole assembly out of a volvo will do it. Ford taurus’ also had ridiculously good dual cooling fans for a few years. That’s about the only positive thing I’ll say about a 90s Taurus...

The moral of the story is that the e36 2 speed fan switch is actually sought out by all sorts for easy aftermarket electric fan installs, and probably comes with the radiator.

Probably not much more work, but I just tapped into the existing auxillary fan switch for a single speed which requires no extra wiring or adjustment. Not sure the 2 speed is really needed honestly.
