I have had my car parked outside for the first time in its life only to be confronted by the sound of sloshing water apparently eminating from the rocker panel. I recently had the windshield replaced and do not know if there is a connection. Where can water enter the rocker panel. There absolutely no sign of corrosion or damage to the rocker panel. I would like to determine the why and fix it before it causes further problems. Any help or suggestions are welcome.

How are you jack pads?
Missing jack pads seem to be more the cause of water in the rockers.
I would suspect that more than the windshield at this point.

Rear sunroof drains also end up in the rocker panel?
Get under and check for clogged drain holes.
Are you sure it's not in your back seat?

Probably in the bottoms of the doors.
I have checked the jack pads and they are OK. Don't know about the rear sunroof drains but will check tomorrow Back seat and floor is dry. I will check the door drains again but they were cleaned out afther all the pollen we had here a few weeks ago. We had some heavy rainstorms last night so it should be pretty evident. Thanks for the feedback.

I had this happen about 15 years ago. I pulled the jack pads out and all the water gushed out of the rocker (right side). I never did figure out where it got in, and it hasn't happened since. Just one of those E39 mysteries.
