Had USA Spec interface in place of CD changer in last car, but wondered what similar low hassle ways
there might be to bring Ipod or Android into stock stereo?
USA Spec install was easy enough, but they only had 30 pin Ipod solution
Are there other options that are easy install in the trunk / CD replacement?
A bluetooth solution would be fine.
Would like to avoid pulling radio if possible, unless thats the best solution.
Appreciate any suggestions, or where to look.
TY
Try GROM.
Thanks. Nothing similar to USA Spec, all of GROMs solutions for my 2001 are behind radio.
Procedure doesnt look that bad if I cant find a CD replacement solution.
The behind the head unit solution works well as you won’t have to run cables from the trunk to the passenger compartment. GROM is a highly respected company.
There are solutions where you can tap the IBUS/KBUS from the trunk cd changer and not need to run any wires forward.
USA Spec had a solution but that was for older Ipods with 30 pin connectors.
I'm looking at IBUS interfaces, and reading up on Resler, Arduino solutions, etc.
... so far its a bit over my head.
Dont mind splicing a few wires from the CD-changer, buying an Arduino, Resler etc, but
looking for a step by step on how to do it.
Hopefully someone can explain how its done, or where I can get better educated on it.
