735 self leveling suspension options? HELP!

I have an 88 735iL with self leveling suspension that is "bouncy". I am told that the rear shocks need to be replaced, but the factory ones are ove $1k each for the parts.
BAV Auto used to sell a delete kit but they have gone out of business.
I have checked Ebay and can find the left side (still $500+) but nothing on the right side.
What options do I have? has anyone removed and swapped in regular shocks?

if the rear is bouncy, the problem is not the shocks, you need new accumulators/bombs, 2 of them. You can test them. Remove the hydraulic hose from the rear shocks, stick something inside with pressure, if you can stick it in, the gas bladder inside is broken and all gas gone. See here http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/1261417/
Accumulators are made by several makers. You need 2 x 37211132043 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_0752
here from Febi Bilstein for $110 per piece https://www.bimmerworld.com/Suspensi...34-E34-M5.html

no need to buy such a delete kit, if you really want to delete LAD, just disable the double valve pump section for power steering and LAD and install new shocks, springs and shock mounts, DIY is on my website below.
How to modify the pump I also posted before , or make a return loop from pump to Pentosin container. Search for LAD delete in this forum. EDIT: here https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...=lad+pump+bolt

But for your problem, if the rear is just hard, that shows that the damping effect is not there and that is not the shock but the accumulator. On my website is also a youtube when I cut off the accumulator and showed the inside parts and explained the system.
