    F10 M5 big brakes on E38

I have been wondering if we can fit those 400mm F10 rotors and Calipers under our classic 7s.
The reason behind this swap: Im tired of these baby brakes fading under spirited driving
Plus it’s in preparation for another upcoming ambitious power project.

Heres where we are at currently:
    Requires: 20" wheels

if the images are attached correctly, they should give a rough idea of how they will be seated.
Sadly it’s not really plug and play. The rotor does not sit flush against the hub. This will require some trimming the lip on the inside of the rotor hub matching our e38 hubs.

If you're having brake fade issues, the first question I'd ask is: what pads are you running?

    Final product

    UPDATE:
I reached out to a company in Russia to manufacture the brackets for the calipers.
Tro-nik.ru They do some amazing work.

the finished results turned out spectacular, everything feels very firm and solid.

the rear calipers are a work in progress due to electronic handbrake the F10 M5 carries

The OEM Bmw pads, they get the job done for a daily commuting, but abuse them hard enough and they will begin to give out, the e38 is a heavy car no doubt about it.

I have to ask a stupid question. I assume you're stateside. WHERE do you live that you can get the stock brakes to fade on a public road on a regular basis?

It was clearly stated that there are two reasons. The first was spirited driving, and second was to make sure hes ready for a future power-adding project. I dont think he regularly sees break fade....I think its when he gets into the twisty roads and wants to push it. I am in southern california and I can tell you that my D&S rotors and ceramics fade pretty quick on mountain roads. its just a beast of a car.

My question stands, I am afraid: I am passably familiar with the E38. I am also fairly familiar with driving habits in various states in the US. I have yet to find a place stateside where you could push an E38 enough to cause brakes to fade without having at least the very real risk - one could say the certainty - of having 95% of the local constabulary busy throwing the book at you, save for some areas in Virginia where it LOOKED like there was nobody around.

That is why I asked where he lived. If you have roads in southern CA where you can push the car enough to have brake fade driving properly (key) and (reasonably) safely, great, but it's a rare circumstance. Hence my question, doubly so because Florida is not exactly known for its elevation changes.

FL is known for having lots of empty roads while crossing from coast to coast.
You have miles of just empty roads with bends. *enjoyed responsibly not in general population The fastest you can go is about 151 GPS and its nice to have something with consistent bite; Also nice to bring the living room to the track since I'm on coils.
With this said, an F10 m5 weights about the same, set the power difference aside your still traveling great distance at great speed, mass is mass regarless of

I had to use spacers but they do clear 5mm clearance between caliper and the rim face.

750 brakes are bigger. 2 piston front calipers instead of single, larger front rotors. And slightly larger (and vented) rear rotors.

I ran 750 brakes on the track with Hawk pads and rarely had fade only on hot days. The 740 brakes always faded after the third or fourth lap. Super cool to get those brakes on a E38.
