Hello!
I just bought a pair of BMW E32 memory power seat from a 1989 BMW 735i E32, to install them in my BMW E32 730i 1987 (VIN 2180019) who came from factory with manual seated heats.
When I bought the memory seats, I made sure that they came with the MEMORY MODULE (under the driver's seat) and the memory harness (that connect the memory to the car harness).
So I readed all the topics about this retrofit on the internet and found out that the major problem is connect the driverīs seat and make it work, just because the stupid memory module have his own harness, so if you donīt buy the memory harness you are partially screwed (I said partially, because some genius on this forum have made it work even without the harness doing some mods and grounding it and bla bla).
Until this point everything was running fine because I had bought the memory harness too and I was thinking: "great this will be just a plug and play business". OK! So I connected the co-pilot seat and it was really plug play, everything worked fine. But, as everything related with this brand is always a problem, all of this couldnīt be so easy, it was everything running so perfect to be truth: I connected the driverīs seat with the memory module to the wiring harness (which fitted perfectly on memory module, and with the carīs harness) but I had no luck, it didnīt worked. Nothing moved, and there is no light on memory button, nothing. GOD! COME ON! WHY ME! haha
So I started to search info about this and had no luck again, there is no much info on the web.
Then I readed that exist two types of this memory module: EARLY TYPE and LATE TYPE. I donīt know what year determine one or another type (again there is a lack of info ), but some guy in this forum called NIRVANA19 said that EARLY TYPE modules wonīt work after connect them, if they donīt receive input signals from memory mirrors or memory steering column and there is a trick to make it work (but he didnīt explained how to do it). So I'm suspecting this on my situation, because all of the DIY here on BimmerForums, about this retrofit are made with 1994/1995 MEMORY POWER SEATS. DOES SOMEONE KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THIS? Please somebody help me
SHOGUN PLEASE HELP!

I am not the expert for this, can only give you a link to the training manual http://www.e38.org/e32/BMW_pdfs/smm.pdf
Maybe ask demetk from the E34 forum to read this thread, he has some experience with that.
