    Center console repair

Hello, there are 2 little rubber bands that secures the lid to my center console on my 98 M Roadster. One of them snapped. Does anyone know if the band is replaceable or should I try to get a similar rubber band to replace. It’s kind of like the size of the bands one would use for teeth braces. If so, a part number would be useful.

    Thanks

I used O rings. I happened to have a box of many sizes, just chose the closest one. Any hardware store will have a selection.

O rings are what I use too.

I replaced my broken rubber bands with o-rings when I got the car in 2012 and it looks new o-rings are needed.

When I replaced mine (several years ago), I got extra o-rings for just this reason. I have no idea where they are now, so it will be easier to just buy some more o-rings.
