Had the supercharger impeller on my B7 munch itself (Foreign Object Damage?, Clutch?, Hard to tell). While I could replace the clutch assembly in the back, the impeller was toast and NOBODY would sell me one. My only option was to purchase an entire $11,000 supercharger from the dealer. After a lengthy search for another option, I found a shop that would machine a replacement for me and sent me to their representative for supercharger work here in the states. It took a while, but the shop now has replacement impellers for sale and can rebuild our superchargers for far far less. I don't want to run afoul of commercial shilling here, but the shop sticker is in the attached picture with an address. Jon did a great job getting my car back up on the road when nobody else could. Pictures show mangled impeller next to the repaired supercharger and a shot of the new impeller installed.

Do you know if this company can also replace the thrust bearing (the one that is impossible to find aftermarket)?
FYI: You can get a brand new Supercharger from ALPINA directly for around $4000 - If you order through BMW, you will be asked to bend over...
'93 850Ci - Mineralweiß Metallic
2001 740iL - Titansilber
ALPINA B7 -Alpinweiß III
...the price of cool ain't cheap!
I tried going through ALPINA directly to start (both US and German offices). Was completely shutdown. Even tried going through the manufacturer of the supercharger itself (ASA Kompressor) and was told they couldn't talk to me either. I'd love to know how to make even that option work. I don't know about the thrust bearing, but if you call Jon (afternoons about 4:30 Central Time seem to be good to get a hold of him personally on the phone - email is not his most reliable communications method), he'll confirm or deny. (He couldn't do the impeller when I first contacted him either, and now he can, so he's evidently motivated to find solutions)
that is excellent info, parts are impossible to find and most rebuild shops want at least $4000
Hello guys,
There’s a solution available. Check this website: www.thecrazydiyengineer.com
I also tried contacting Alpina directly. They said they could not help me
I like Jon's impeller offering. I've installed several of them on customer supercharger rebuilds to replace damaged impellers. I hope you also replaced the impeller shaft bearings, as they are typically the root cause of the impellers getting damaged. The impeller shaft bearings are critical in ensuring smooth rotation of the impeller up to 90k RPM. Worn bearings can cause the impeller to vibrate or wobble leading to impeller contacting the supercharger housing and causing the blades to crack or wear out due to abrasion. That's most likely what happened to your unit. Here is my DIY video of how to replace the impeller shaft bearings:
I have more supercharger DIY videos on my site that cover the complete rebuild process.
