    Z3M Trunk Lid Panel Retrofit

For those of you that retrofitted the deck lid panel did you panel fit correct at all four pinning points? I purchased a panel but only two pins were able to be installed. The two lower I'd need to drill out but not sure I need to.

    How did yours fit?

I didn't retrofit the trim panel, but my M Roadster trunk lid trim looks like this:

I suspect the trim panel will start to sag if you don't add the bottom two fasteners.

You are putting a prefacelift trunk trim panel onto a facelift trunk. it wont fit and I would not drill holes to try to make it fit

It appears to mostly fit, other than the two missing fastener holes; why would carefully drilling (obviously being aware that drilling past minimal depth would perforate the trunk lid outside sheetmetal) two holes for push fasteners be a problem?

They were only on the "M" version.

The parts guy at the breaking yard said it was same and I didn't have my Z3 with me at the time.

I'm certain as you say it's for the earlier version and wouldn't cut holes to fit but would forgo this project if the dealer cannot source the correct part.

    Thanks all!

Am I missing something here? Why not cut new holes in the trim panel to match the holes in the trunk lid? If you get it wrong it ain't no big deal.
