LCM change/program F30 328i

Hi I went to the agency and they told me they had to change the LCM (Light Control Module). They were charging me around 1200 dollars for the part and labor which seems excessive. I found the part online much cheaper but can someone explain the process of replacing and programming (if it is needed). If I bought a repair manual would this have the instructions to do it? My car is a F30 BMW 328i 2012

What is your car doing (or not doing correctly) to need that part?
There is no dedicated LCM on F30....
It's part of the FEM (front electronics module) which also contains the vehicle security. So you cannot use used parts.
If it's for the rear lights, then the REM (rear electronics module) is in charge of those.

I would suggest clarifying before paying for anything. That or find a better shop.

Can you please confirm it's what you need?

And no, a manual will not show you any of that, however with good computer skills, you can program one yourself.
