Hi
Im now swapping my 1.8 z3 into s54.
Got a question that i cant find a real answer, hope u can help out with your experience with e 36 wich is similar...
Can i use the ordinary 6 cyl engine mount arms? I saw in realoem that one of them is different in the z3m s54 but cant get one on web.
Dont wanna stuck in the middle of the swap.
Any help would be appriciated.
you can use m52/s52 (6 cylinder) engine mount arms, but the driver side wont have the provision for the s54 intake manifold support (single bolt hole). You c an make a bracket, or use the e46m3 driver side mount arm.
Thanks alot for your answer!
Just to maje sure, the ordinary 6 cyl arms will fit as is, only thing is i wont have a bracket for the intake manifold?
And in order to solve the problem i can use on the right side the ordinary 6 cyl arm and in the left side the m3 e46 arm? That would work?
That's what he said.
thats correct. If you line up the arms from a z3 and a e46m3, you'll see that the passenger side is a bit longer than the z3. the driver side is identical in length but the e46m3 arm is beefier. If you use the e46m3 arm on the driver side (intake manifold side), you'll retain the manifold support bolt.
Thanks alot. Appriciate your help!
