Can anyone recommend a head gasket sealant for an X5 3.0si?
Don't waste your time or money on some "mechanic in a can". They don't work. If your engine has been overheated to the point of a leaking head gasket, the damage has been done, and a can of liquid crap won't fix anything. The head is likely warped and/or cracked.

What he said. Also if you use a sealant, there is a risk of sealing things other than the thing you intend to seal.
My one experience with head gasket seal in a can type products was with buying a car where the previous owner had used one to deal with a head gasket problem that he didn't tell me about. It lasted about a month after buying the car before letting go. Do the job right and cry only once.

BMW - where "Why doesn't everybody build cars the way they do?" meets "Why can't they build a car the same way everyone else does it?"
I’ve used this stuff before https://amzn.to/2w2bv0a
Seemed to keep the car going pretty well to be honest. Before I added it was pretty sure it was going to completely blow on me but after adding sealant it stopped. Really just depends on the severity of the car though.
