    E39 green color

I am re-painting my car completely as the paint was quite damaged overall (kept it under a plum-tree for a couple of month).

Using this “opportunity” i wanna change the shade of color.

I am trying to decide between these 2:

    1. Bmw urban green

    2. Alpina green metallic (new version- 2015/16)

At the moment, the car looks like this:

I wanna keep the nfl chrome trims on the doors and bumpers.

Unfortunately i cannot find a photo of any e38/e39/e46 in one of these colors..

I asked in the paint shop to paint the mirror covers first- one in each of the colors- to help me decide.

Does anybody know an e39/e38 (very similar form) in one of these colors or at least something extremely close? And what is your opinion? (Opinions like “both colors look crappy” do not help. I mean if you were to choose between these 2- what would you choose for your e39?)

If going green and choosing between these two, second one hands down. More of a classic British Racing style green like the e36 M3 GT car of similar vintage which IMHO would fit a classic e39 chassis better than option #1. Unfortunately can’t help you with supporting photos of an e39 but here’s the GT

+1 for Alpina Green. It's got way more depth and looks a lot more classy overall.

Seeings how I have two Oxford Green || wagons, and a British Racing Green Mini Cooper S , which by the way is pretty much exactly the same as Oxford Green 2, I wouldn’t be surprised if the color codes are identical, I would go with the Alpina green rather than that Asparagus Diarrhea Extra Runny Green on that poor M3.

I was going to put it a bit more diplomatically, but I do like how Snotty phrased it.

Greens especially and blues somewhat, when I like them I really like them, but if I don't I think they look awful.

Wonder which green the op decided to go with.
So, I am down to one Oxford Green II wagon, my original one got written off in an accident, my surviving wagon got a sibling Titan Silver wagon, but the green one is still my favorite, but the clear coat on the roof and the hood drastically disintegrated in the last 4 months. Every time it would rain all day, a lake of water would blister up underneath the clear coat, I would run my finger over it and it would just push the water splitting the clear coat from the base coat. Never seen that before, and I worked at a body shop! Anyway, I love the car so much, I started stripping the car down for a full re paint. Same color, of course. Still need to de trim the doors, door handles, belt moldings , already got the mirrors off, popped the mirror caps off, but also took my M5 mirrors that I have had for years, apart, getting it all painted green, need to get the tail gate stripped down still, tail lights, rear bumper head liner to get to the nuts for the roof rails, strip the sunroof seal off of the roof, get everything ready for the painter. Dude owes me some favors, all I need to do is get it all ready for him to prep and spray, I just have to pay for the materials. I have a few dings that I was gonna fix, but the body man at the shop where the painter works also owes me and my brother favors, he offered to take care of it all. Win win!

    Hi
    I love both of them.

First one feels bit more aggressive, perhaps for youth more.
Alpina green is beautiful, i wonder if there is same non metallic version? I feel like dirt and dust is more present on Alpina green (metallic) than on urban green.

Nice colors both. Gave me ideas. Been lookin for e39 for about a year now and sometimes skip a car just because of the color, but perhaps car itself is in great condition and would need just new paintjob.

I too am looking to paint my LS swapped E39 (2002). I want something metallic and aggressive, but more like thisGreen car.jpgor this.Green car 3.jpg

But I have not seen it on a BMW. Does anyone have pics of an E39 with something similar?

Because bmw people are purists, not that you can't do what you like.
    How about an individual color?

I don't care what color you paint your car but for the record THIS is BRG

That is true, but somewhere along the way, they also came out with a metallic British Racing Green, and with the 2003 Mini Coopers, my British Racing Green Mini was born, with it’s metallic Oxford Green 2 color match, I did check, the color codes are not the same. I will eventually repaint the Mini, and I have thought about doing it in the original BRG. Have not seen any done, so might be cool to do.
