Swapping M70 engines between two 850i's, one automatic and the other manual

What are the issues involved with swapping engines between an automatic 850i and a 6 speed 850i? Are there any electrical issues? Do the flywheels, bell housings, etc. connect to the engine and crankshaft the same way? Do the giant crankshaft bolts have to be removed? Are there any parts that cannot be re-used (e.g. torque-to-yield bolts)?

    Had a 1991 BMW 850

    Bolts

I would not reuse the bell housing bolts unless they look really good. Easy to round off the heads

Motor mounts, trans mounts are easy while you are in there along with O2 Sensors etc

Inspect your insulation closely, Mine was all rotten

I assume but do not know if the Manual M70 motor would need a Pilot Bearing in the back of the crank
