    Bluetooth/ handsfree ulf loom

    Guys
I know this feels like a subject done to death but I am really struggling here.
I recently bought my lovely 2008 x3 which has and M badge on the back so I'm assuming its a M version....
it is originally from Northern Ireland (not sure if that makes a difference)?

My dilemma / puzzle I have the buttons on the steering wheel as every car seems to have for the phone but
I don't seem to have any wiring anywhere to plug in the ULF i have bought.
I have searched high and low in the boot of the car but there just isn't anything at all.
I naively assumed all X3 (from research) have this loom and connectors in the boot. Am i wrong?

    Cool Maybe I can help

I have an '08 E83 also. I'm not sure what you mean by a ULF? Please explain. I'm pretty sure all the post LCI E83's were all outfitted with a TCU (telematics control unit). Put your VIN in one of the VIN decoders like: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=829706 . This will confirm if your X3 has the TCU installed. If you do, the car is already prepped for a phone. You should be able to easily pair your phone to the car. There should be a card in the owners manual with the instruction and the PIN code.

    Cool More info required

What did the VIN decoder say? Was your car originally equipped with the phone prep package? I was under the impression it was moved from optional to standard equipment post LCI which includes 2008's. When you say your X3 has no box, where are you looking? Also you never said what a ULF is? If your X3 was one very of the few 08's not equipped with the telematics package I think it can be added but I am not sure. Search the web for info. Another check would be to scan for Bluetooth signals with your phone when you first turn on the ignition. If you have the telematics package your car will show up in the list of available devices. What have you tried so far?

Well for us in the "US" what your looking for is under a small trap door in the boot/trunk...for us it's on the very rear driver side corner.
For us here its questionable if it'll work.
For you across the pond it may just be very well active. All depends on the past dealer and the original owner.
For "us" finding it is only the start of our problems so as getting that thing to function properly.
But for you, the attempt may be altogether different...good luck...
    Cheers!
