    Intro and new shark

Hi everyone, I'm not new to BMWs but am new to e24. Today I acquired an '85 635csi with ~30K miles. It's a real time capsule, very good condition inside and out. Not a hint of rust anywhere after a very thorough examination. It's clear the car has been sheltered for all of its life. All the trim is still a nice deep black. There are a few scratches and dents here and there. Interior is tip-top. It does have a few minor electrical issues that need to be sorted. I drove it 170 miles home and it runs nice and strong, drives straight down the road and rides nice. I'm sure I will be back for research and wisdom as I begin to sort things out.

This is the only pic I have at the moment.

I'm amazed this even exists, a car with such a low mileage. Love to see more...

This car is really blowing my mind for 34 years old, quite a find. I took a bunch of pictures today, some are in the garage and not ideal lighting but I think you'll get the gist of it. Had a whole lot fun cruising around today in the beautiful spring weather. Today was our local BMW CCA chapter cars and coffee so as you can imagine there was a lot of astonishment and admiration there. This car is a real reference car, very unmolested and just amazing condition. I plucked this out of obscurity from a garage sale ad on craigslist! Bunch of pictures at the link below. Enjoy!

That's awesome. Probably too late for this year, but you should start planning now for SharkFest 2020...

Very nice congrats, your cars looks identical to mine. I noticed all the electrical tape on the sensors on the right side of radiator? If you decide to repaint the front spoiler and replace the cracked\broken clear fuse cover, the car will be near perfect.

Good eye, yeah that's actually silicone wrap, the stuff that bonds to itself when you wrap it. The radiator has a hair-line crack and is seeping coolant, I had to drive the car 170 miles home so that was our attempt to help contain the seeping.

The driver's seat was not moving forward and backward, but you could hear the motor clicking/attempting to work. While at c&c, a BMW tech buddy of mine told me to try giving it a light tap tap tap with a hammer while working the button, so I tap tap tapped on the transmission box and I'll be damned if it didn't start sliding back and forth real nice! I was beside myself with happiness with such an easy fix, I figured I was in for a long stint of pulling the seat out, troubleshooting, swapping motors, etc. etc. My wife wasn't able to drive the car because the seat was too far back, so she was happy too.
