Greetings my Fellow 8-Series owners.
Today begins a new chapter in my 8-series marketing. Introducing the "STORIES OF OUR EIGHTS".
In 2008 I started a thread with the same name on the old ROADFLY forums, which became an instant hit, with hundreds of stories pouring in by fellow 8-series owners. Today I have started the same thing with videos; and what better car to start it with than a Yellow Euro BMW 850CSi. Unfortunately the roadfly page is long gone... but these video will live forever... This beautiful car is now up for auction on Bring a A Trailer.
I have shared my most intimate personal story to lead the way for others to do the same. Write me your stories here in the comments. Would love to hear them.

I have a Dakar yellow 850csi model the new owner to be may like to go with the real thing. It is a Revell 1:18 scale model. As you may know the engine, interior and underside has very nice detail, with opening doors and hood. Let me know if interested.

However, I have two of the same exact Dakar yellow scale model cars as well. I bought them on ebay. One will go with the car to the new owner

Hey Alex, If you end with the 840 on BaT I have a very nice set of Style 9 Turbines w/o tires in the original gray color. I have 5 of them.

No last-minute bids came in...what was the total price including buyer's premium?

Those bids got rid of the "posers" real fast.

I'm proud to say that I hit my reserve within the first 9 hours of auction and slowly climbed up to $106.500 (Including buyer's fees) for final sale.
This was the fastest "reserve met" I have every experienced, so I'm very happy wit the outcome. As a comparison, my Red CSi hit its reserve after 48 hours.

Congratulations, Alec! A really solid outcome!

I wonder if the car still had its original engine, if it would have brought more money? That seems to make a tremendous valuation difference with many marques...Personally I would favor having the new engine and transmission.
