COAPI 2020, no response from control unit

I have been trying to code my E60 M5 for aux input. I thought a finally got it going yesterday but now my display shows all groups but nothing works. The error message is no response from control unit so the module is dead. I have found several threads with this code but no answers except for take it to the dealer.

Somewhere along the way I read about a way to recover a module but I can't find it now. I would like to fix my module and know how and why. I'm sure it's just a matter of getting the coding back in but I'm not sure of the steps?

Well good news, bad news. I went out this morning to try and recover the I-drive I guess you would call it. When I turned the car on the I-drive was working.

I started over trying to code in the AUX input. I checked the FA order and the aux was there. I tried to read the CAPPL with the original daten files and got the same error as before. Then I switched the daten files to the ones I got from bimmergeeks. I was then able to read the CAPPL. I used NCS dummy to mount the Aux input. Then I went back to NCS and coded in the aux input. I got and incomplete error and figured I was screwed. I shut the car off and turned it back on and the aux input was listed.

So here is the new problem. The car says the SOS isn't working and although I can select different inputs including FM there is no audio output. So the saga continues?

I feel like such a dumbass. I pulled an old IPOD input module from behind the glove box over a week ago. I just put it back in and now the audio works. In my defence the car is new to me and has a bunch of audio stuff that I haven't figured out yet. It has an Audison controller in the armrest that isn't hooked up to anything and I also found some FOCAL amps in the left rear quarter panel.

So the Aux input is still there and now I'm trying to get it to connect to my phone.

I wish I could give a solid answer as to why the I-drive quit and I got the 2020 code. I guess this will be another thread that ended well but no real answers?
