Hello, I am trying to figure out why my FM radio is static-y. In my 99 M3 vert, I have a stock C43 radio and the AM is flawless. However, the FM gets static-y, especially when the top is up. When the top is down, the FM works great. I have already cleaned the connections at the rear antenna (as much as I can). If anyone has a good idea why this may be happening, please let me (and everyone!) know. Otherwise, if anyone knows how the antenna cable routes from the radio to the antenna, that would likely be helpful. Thanks!
dash to driver side floor next to frame rail, up rear seat bottom, across to the passenger side, then through a hole towards the antenna area.
Excellent! Is there a place I can find that antenna cable? TIA
Just the cable from front to back?
Yes, me

I had the same issue , I unplugged the amplifier wire going to the base of the antenna and it went away.
I don’t use fm much so I can’t say wether I notice a huge difference in reception .
Mainly I use the Bluetooth adapter plugged in to the back of the factory stereo
