    2004 Z4 Electrical Questions

I have recently purchased a 2004 Z4. The car has been sitting under an oak tree in the previous owner's driveway for the past five years. The engine and transmission seem to be in good shape, but it has electrical bugs. A couple of which I cannot figure out are the seats and top. The seats are both power seats. The power seat functions all work before the car is started. Once the engine is running the seats no longer will move. I also have the same issue with the top motor to unlock and lock the top. The hydraulic lift motor is shot, but the top can be raised and lowered manually since the locking motor still works. The catch again is it will not work while the engine is running. Only when the key is in the on position with the engine off before cranking. Ideas?? Thanks for the help!

I would with the basic charging system check just so that's out of the way, then move to fuses. Then there might be water damage to something for sitting for so long outside and getting rained on. It might have to go a shop to at least look into it
