I have I believe a 9th gen ULF module that I got back in 06-07. It stopped working a few years ago. The first issue was that I couldn't hear anything anymore. Just stopped one day. The mic was working as people could hear me. So I just stopped using it. Then one day I noticed "bluetooth" wasn't even showing on my monitor screen, and other days it was. So I tried pairing my phone again with no luck. Eventually it just never showed bluetooth as an option so I just pulled the ULF out.
Does anybody know of a place I could send it for diagnosis and repair? Don't feel like spending $600 for a new one. I've just started using an earpiece but would be nice to have the ULF back.
Hi,
Just buy a used unit from a breakers yard/ebay listings for a later version which has higher chances of working fully with Android handsets. Even then, there's no solid guarantee that whichever Android you have will fully work, it's bit of a lottery. If you have an Apple Iphone, then they currently have the best chance of working with the old OEM bluetooth units. You could have the OEM amplifier module modified to have a bluetooth module piggybacked onto it. Not sure of who does this in the USA, over here in the UK there's Carphonics - http://www.carphonics.co.uk/ who do this and other OEM module mods/repairs.
Cheers, Dennis!
I have a 9th gen unit from 2006. I can't find anything newer than 4th gen which is 2004 on Ebay. Starting with 5th gen they were a totally updated.
unless i can find a 6th gen or newer i'm not going to bother. I'm not sure why there are nothing newer on Ebay.
