Dreaded "Drivetrain malfunction" Drive moderately. Max output not available

I have a 2015 X5xDrive50i and have been getting the "Drivetrain malfunction: Drive moderately. Maximum drivetrain output not available" error message.

It happens under moderate to hard acceleration and begins shuddering big time. Usually, after it sits a while, things are back to normal until the next acceleration.

It has these error codes in it:

    C1818 Air Suspension Compressor Timeout
    P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected
    P0300 RANDOM MISFIRE
P0004 Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit High

I have an appointment with an independent German auto repair shop next Thursday but thought I'd try to get some opinions before then. Like to be prepared to ask intelligent questions and not drawn into a big parts swap exercise if possible.

    Thanks in advance - Greg

Well there probably going to start with the misfire and move on from there because if they mark and move the coil pack clear faults recheck and the misfire flows the coil pack move the it would be a coil pack if the fault returned to the same cylinder then it will something else

plugs. Then if it continues I would focus on the coil for #3. The indy shop should be able to knock that out for sure.

I am empathetic, but it is good to know that the n63tu's are still having problems

After three visits, they finally said it was a failed fuel injector and spark plug. They replaced them and after two weeks, they same thing happened. They replaced another fuel injector and spark plug. I fear I am now in the "we can only fix it if it fails" loop, so will be making fun visits back to BMW service for weeks and months. It is a V8, so six more to go!
