    Options lookup by VIN?

    Hello,
I'm new to this site. I have a question: Can anyone look up the options for my car with the VIn number, or do i have to go to the dealer?
    Thank you,
    Jacek

Your build sheet may still be in the car as well. Pull up on the front of your back seat to pop it off. Build sheet may be in the springs underneath.

Aren't there a couple of useful alternatives to the mdecoder.com webpage? Seems like there are, but I can't find them.
Anyway, I tried to use mdecoder today, and it looks like they've decided to make it "un-free" going forward.
    Anybody else noticed that?

There used to be several sites that worked up to June or so. Nowadays, mdecoder only seems to work for older cars and only in certain geolocated areas, the others are more or less dead.

Evidently BMW closed down the relevant API.

Thanks for reply. Will you check and see if mdecoder still works for you?
On my 2nd try today, it told me that I had reached my "daily limit", and that "paid access was coming soon" (or something similar to that).

I noticed the same thing a few days ago. I've been using the website for years and then that popped up on me and i was like 'huh'?! Very interesting to see they are going to make it a paid access decoder.

Hum - I Googled a VIN yesterday and up popped several decoder options. The first one was free and accurate. Sorry, I don't remember the address/name.

As of today it told me I have reached the daily limit on my first try. I hadn't even been on the site since 8/06 or so.
