Anyone ever have trouble removing the MKIII Nav Computer from the car in order to swap in the MKIV?
I have the MKIV on my coffee table and can easily push the contacts out of the way on the included bracket with the coat hangers /slash BMW removal tools but when I try to do the same in the trunk of my 2001 740i msport there is no joy.
I'm going to try again today but it I can't see what the problem is and there is nothing to grab onto as the carpeted trunk liner is flush with the unit.
I could see inside a bit on the left side of the unit with a flashlight but the sun wasn't helping at the time.
Just wondering if I'm missing anything or if anyone else has had this problem in the past.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Mine fits really tight. I used a plastic pry bar to get it started but it's a pain.
Mine was stuck I pulled the trim ring off then I was able to open the cover and push it from the back .......
Finally got it out just now.
Had to wiggle it like crazy but once I saw it move out a bit on one side I knew there was hope lol.
Thanks for the replies!
So nice to be able to adjust brightness without going into secret menus and it is definitely zippier.
Updated to V32 Custom software with perspective view mode.
Sweet!

Glad you got it out. The MK4 is worth it. I just sold my MK3 on ebay for $125 so not a costly upgrade.
