Like the title says, Im just wondering if i need to reprogram or "reboot" my e90 electronics after the car sat without a battery for 18 months. I once heard a rumor that a Z3 needed to be reprogramed after the owner took the battery out for winter.

The old rumor is false, and you do not need to reprogram anything, as long as the original modules are in it and aren't damaged.

I think it'll need to "know" if you install a new battery.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
Like Abel, I'm kind of worried about your DME with bad burn marks. I'm also worried that you replaced the wiring harness with one from an N51, because Abel indicates it's quite different.
It's generally best for you if you keep your eggs in one basket, as far as asking for help here. It's much more difficult to refer back to a different thread, and the info from your original thread is crucially important to the above question.

Yea, he's now looking at 2 issues. Probable bad original dme... I can usually solve that issue as I have cloned MSV80s.
And an engine conversion compatibility issue.
