Having a brain fart! I remember disconnect the battery and short the positive and negative cables, but for some reason it seems like there was a step involving the ignition switch position.
Help please. Alzheimer's has taken hold, and I've already taken the back seat out. I need help before I forget how to put it back.
Just disconnect the battery. There is no need to short the leads together. A couple minutes is fine. Some say 10 minutes. There is no magic voodoo.

Thanks
For some reason I was second guessing myself and thinking that the key needed to be in the "on" position for some reason.
However, I know that the last time I read the procedure on here, that the leads were supposed to be connected together for some reason.
Oh well!
Thanks for the help.
Now , if I can just remember how to put that backseat back in!
You can also disconnect the ground wire from battery in front of the rear seat passenger side , no need to remove the rear seat
