    Hey Ted,

I've just updated the firmware and checked it out today. The new features are pretty nice.
Thanks a lot and keep it up .

Awesome! Thanks for the updates you made; I looked over the release notes you put together and I can see a lot of work went into this update. I will plan on installing the update this weekend. Got your email about my questions for phone book support; have been busy myself and haven't had time to respond, but will do so this weekend (hopefully).

Anyone running the new firmware 1.1.18 on their e38? I just flashed it the other day. Love it so far! However, I'm noticing the oil temperature is all over the place. One moment it will say 240, next moment it will say 470! Then it will drop down to 53. All in Fahrenheit that is. Do I have an issue or is this just a new firmware problem?

Side question not necessarily connected to BlueBus but, where does the m62tu get the oil 'temperature' from?

Not yet. I have downloaded it and had plans to install this past weekend; but other things got in the way. Hope to install it this week instead (maybe while the turkey is cooking on Thursday). Interesting observation about the oil temperature; I'll look for that.

Not sure where engine oil temperature comes from on an E38. This link here might be relevant...

Yeah, you're not the only one noticing that. Ted's already trying to figure it out. It seems there is something off with the calculation.
The temperature value is (as far as I remember) calculated through different sources (one of them is the oil level sensor).

Still working my way through the 5 stages of grief in the fact that l have bite the bullet and hop in queue to play the waiting game. The wait will be worth it though!

I've had the BlueBus in my car for about 2 yrs now and still working great. Don't have the latest firmware in it, I think I'm at 1.17 or so, but still good.

It does have a few quirks, but that may be because I have upgraded the car to a Nav IV unit from a Nav III and some components may not be talking to each other well.

    Hey Ted,

Is Bluebus backward compatible ? Can I go back to 1.1.17 ? Thank you.

The BlueBus firmware loader can restore older versions, such as 1.1.17 -- you just need the firmware. I just updated to 1.1.18 on Friday, what is going on that is making you think of reverting?

With the new added features, one of them was to show the ambient, Coolant and the Oil Temp. After the update, the Oil Temp stopped displaying. I can only see the coolant and the ambient temp. The second thing is.. I feel .18 is a little laggy when it comes to navigating the menu. .17 was super snappy. Don't get me wrong, its still brilliant as to what ted has made here but like all updates, there might be a few bugs that get fixed as a Hotfix or newer version. I just wanted to wait till .18 is much stable.

Got it. I also noticed that when there is a telephone call happening it didn't seem possible to jump back to the main menu; I was on the phone and wanted to see my navigation display while on the call. I'll have to document what I saw and send Ted a note on it.

Super excited about this product. I had the grom system in my old e38 and it definitely needed an update. I am about to purchase from ECS and get on the wait list but I'm not sure about the TCU adapters that are listed as well. Do I need any of those? It's going on a 2001 750iL with DSP and a mkIV unit and a widescreen display from an e39.

I used the SES TCU adapter and removed the SES module I had installed from the car. Now I can press a button on the steering wheel and ask the Google assistant questions. If you don't have a SES module installed, you should have the the pre-wiring for the SES harness, located just forward of the CD-changer/navigation area.

I believe there were several messages posted by Ted regarding the various adapters in this thread; you may just need to hunt them down as this thread has grown quite large.

I ended up selling my e38 before my BlueBus got here mid November. If anyone is interested in buying one in the Vegas area I'm willing to sell for purchase price

so what's the deal here? I bought one from ECS back in december.
Was supposed to ship today, and now it says July8.

I'm willing to pay a premium for this device if someone can get me one.

Sorry, I don't know why you are just now being notified of this. Originally, I had no idea when I would be able to make more, so I told ECS "Middle of 2022", and finally I gave them a more firm date of July 2022 a couple months ago when I was sure I could meet that ETA.-Ted

Thanks for the update. I don’t drive the car often so I am fine with waiting.
