The m62 version of the PCV includes a vent tube that brings the oil vapor to the front of the intake thereby better distributing the vapor to all of the cylinders. I need the replace my PCV on my 540i and would like to use the m62 version with the vent tube if it's a direct retrofit. I have been scouring threads on m60 manifold conversions on later cars to see if I can find the answer, but have been unable to conclude that this conversion is possible.

For what it is worth, both M60 and M62 use the same rear gasket 11611729728
I don’t know if it’ll do what you want but it’s implied both covers fit on the M60 intake manifold.

The M60 & M62 intake manifolds & CCV's are interchangeable. I've even seen M60 intake manifolds with the boss molded into the plastic to support that tube internally in the manifold like the M62's.
