After engine & battery replacement the soft top won't work-switch does nothing

    Hi there,

BMW 330ci 2005 battery replaced with aftermarket battery. Engine replaced due to cracked block. Battery was replaced because car had been inactive for so long.

Got the car back from mechanic and realised my soft top is no longer working-it won't come down. Don't know if it's a new problem but seems very coincidental that I had this work done and now this...

When I hit the switch-nothing. No red light, no noise, the windows moved once halfway down then stopped. And that was it-that's all I got out of it. Tried to reset the windows-did nothing. I drove around for a bit to "charge" tbe battery-still doesn't work.

Is it possible mechanic disengaged something by mistake? Do I need to get the battery programmed? Checked fuses-it's not them. Anyone had a similar issue? What was the fix?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

First thought: The luggage compartment is in FULL mode.
Second: Try rolling all your windows completely DOWN and trying again. There are sensors that prohibit the top from opening if an ONE window does not roll down.
