I was having an oil leak in my 2005 325i. A reputed indy shop here in NJ has quoted me $650 for replacing the Vanos Oil line and Valve cover gasket. I am able to do some very simple DIY but nothing more complicated. Does the quote seem reasonable.
Thanks! in advance
As we start this price debate remember the shop is in the business of repairing cars and making money. If you just shop by the dollar amount then you can call, other shops. But if you like the shop and the people then you will also start to develop a relationship with them and that's good for both of you. So if you can do the work excellent you will save money. It's pretty straight ahead check out some videos and see if your comfortable with it. As far as the price seems roughly the norm for well established shop.
That's a 3 hour job and almost nothing in parts...
