So I have the dreaded abs fault in my 530d
Previously I had lights on the dash but I replaced the abs sensor passenger side. Built the car back up took it a run and the ABS is kicking in constantly but no lights on the dash. Then when you stop and leave the car idling the abs light comes on.
Scan for codes.... Sensor? Module? Who knows with out a scan.. Its all internet guesses otherwise.

My 99 E39 touring exhibits the same symptoms. The module has been confirmed bad as is probably the case with your car. In my case the module cannot be repaired so I have to replace it, but in my experience this is a somewhat unusual situation. Unfortunately module failures don't always result in a fault code being generated so the actual issue can be somewhat difficult to diagnose.

Sorry should have noted there is no codes on the car now when driving.. When you leave it to idle the code is for p/s front abs sensor which I've already replaced. Who repairs the abs units?
So, what reader did you use to read the error codes ?
If the ABS light comes on, it leaves an error code. What is it ?
I used inpa to read the codes. When the light came back OK the code was again stored for front left hand abs sensor. Sorry for the confusion
Well, then you have a defective ABS sensor, on the front left side of the car. Did you install an oem abs sensor ? or a cheap after-market one??

try swapping the front sensors left <->right and see if the problem follows. if it does, its the sensor. if it doesnt, but stays on the same side, its either the chassis harness or the module.
Concerning module repair, I just recently used Module Repair Pro in Van Nuys, CA. I had the trifecta, and the code showed ABS Sensor Open Circuit, FWIW. For $99, plus shipping, they rebuilt it and all the codes went away immediately after installation. ABS works fine and I'm really pleased.
Plus one for BBA Remanufacturing. I recently sent my module to them for repair. They called to let me know that they weren't able to repair the unit. I was offered the option of purchasing a replacement unit from them, or having my unit replaced and my money returned.
I thought that was a very honorable offer to make. I'll definitely use them again if the need arises.
