    5 to 6 speed swap?

I have an 04 325ci e46 vert and I want to know if anyone has ever 5 speed to 6 speed zf swapped their car? I want to get rid of the getrag. Is it easy and similar to do such as the e36, or will there be a whole compatibility issue, and will I have to recode the dme? Thanks.

There is no need to recode anything, thats for sure. On the mechanical side I'm sure someone here can answer if it bolts right in or there's more to it

Beside the driveshaft, shift linkage, should be pretty straight forward. I would also think that it would be a good idea to replace the clutch with a single mass flywheel, as those dual mass tend to wear out quickly.

I have been on the hunt for a 6-speed for a bit now for the wagon, love to get one in there.

Doing a ZF 6spd swap for someone and he had the trans and flywheel and clutch kit but I need to get the bracket for the back of the trans and either mod the shift console bracket or get it from zionville. Anyone know if you can buy a shift linkage or is it a mod only say cut 1 1/2 inches off the zf 6 speed linkage. and what shifter should I use. In my 5 speeds I use a 1.9 Z3 and bend them they work great but with the 6spd the guibo is really close to all that. Im doing a second after this one so need my duckys in a row for that one.
