Over the last week my drivers seat and steering wheel lose their power operation. Side mirror works, windows, radio and all else work fine. Turn off car, key out, then back ... ignition on - no work. Start - no work. Try again later - work fine. Next day, same thing. 5 mins later while driving, seat and wheel start working again
Oddly, my ‘03 X5 is doing something similar in that drivers seat and steering wheel only ...buck & move a frrrraction of an inch. I can hear motors engage and feel seat/wheel budge ever so slightly but no true movement. And it’s been like this for a few weeks. It doesn’t (like the E38) come back and function normally and then quit again... Same condition constantly.
Any ideas, on both/either appreciated. Thank you.

This is usually a sign that the seat control module on the driver side has an issue. If you have access to INPA, DIS or PA Soft, you can scan the car and get some more detail on the issue.
Some Places remain unknown because no one has ventured forth. Others remain so because no one has ever come back......
Thank you. I have an iCarSoft v2, not sure if that is comparable. Would a seat control module impact the steering wheel?
Pull the cover off of the drivers side seat and make sure it is plugged in? I had this happen when I leaned on the seat edge a little to much putting the new pedal in.
