Hope this helps out, I know it's not as attractive as the Stagg price point, but I trust Bilstein for longevity. Not sure on the quality of the ride for the particular part number sold at RA. I know some folks say they're worth re-valving to more OE spec. I once had Bilstein HDs in an old Camaro....took a bad ride and made it....worse.
The Staggs are reported to wear quickly by the 3 Series guys from what I've read though.

Revalved fronts and stock rears are fine for the Bullies unless you want Koni with some modifications.
What "thumbs up" really means
I went with TRW’s all around, they feel nice but then again all 4 original were shot.
Am under financial pressure and can't throw money at the Bilsteins. The reports on STAGG appear scattered: some report failures and some report good ride on daily un-spirited driving. They happen to complain in the 3 series groups only for aggressive driving. Let me try them on the first E31 in history now. Strut technology without EDC can't be that complicated.

These are B8 sportier and stiffer ones, with lowered clearance. They look appealing, but i can't get into this financial commitment right now.
I have personally ran STAGG (KYB's essentially) with LOWERING springs for several thousand KM's. I was on blown front Bilsteins and good rear bilstein sport shocks when I switched to STAGG.
I loved the ride, firm enough to feel sporty and not bouncy, without making my teeth jarr over bumps. Even though I was lowered, I never experience any ill effects.
I pulled them off when I installed my coilovers last summer.
I just bought another e31 (manual this time) that needs a complete suspension refresh, guess which shocks I ordered again? STAGG, for the money, I don't think there is a better option to be honest. 5*s from me.
On a side note, I've ran them on multiple E90's with no issues as well (stock suspension).

Check these out, it’s what I used,

I have seen many youtube videos to change front struts.
They all show mechanics taking off the brake calipers, loosening control arm bolts, and
letting the entire thing hang down.
There is one video where one spanish speaking mechanic with an english translator just removes the 3 nuts at the top, then twists out the struct without all the complications.
Any thoughts on this ?
This is simpler also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZLgRNgdznU

just done it last week ... yes, only the 3 nuts at the top and the sway bar connection. That's all needed to twist it outside the fender. ( with a jack under it , to do it controlled… )
O yes, first suspend the brake caliper ( hose isn't long enough ) and just take the ABS wire out of the supports .
oh dear, am in trouble !!
can't believe my own bimmer forums thread exists, from history !
Any suggestions ?? I can't get one of the nuts to screw on either of the struts. I am changing the inserts now, after nearly 3 years lol.
one gland nut works on BOTH the struts, and one doesn't go on either. This is very depressing.
