    Confused over Getrag model

I'm doing an engine swap on my 99 318is and I have 2 options to consider for a manual transmission - 1. What was already in it, running off the 4 cyl, or 2. Whatever is in my 93 320i. They're both Getrags, both 5sp, but I'm unsure what particular model either of them are.
Off the 318i coupe the number on the side of the transmission is 220.0.0225.98 ( has 220.0.0223.94 on the rear of the transmission though ? ).
Off the 320i transmission it has 220.0.0225.96.
Now I couldn't find much if any information with those numbers to be sure what they are, or which of the 2 is better. What I think I've found is the one off the 320i is a Getrag 240, and the one off the coupe could be a 220 or a 250 but this is based off just one commenter on some forum so I can't be sure.

Not to hijack at all, but I have also noticed some differences between the two Getrag G260's that I have, both came from 325is's. One from my 95 and one from a 93. The linkage is different, and there are a few other small discrepancies. I have run both...

I've managed to find what I was looking for on a site called bimmercat. com. It says it's a Getrag 250, though surprisingly, for both the '93 and '99. I would have thought over 6 years there would be some improvements made between them.

So unless I'm wrong, it seems I just have to pick the best out of what I have. Time to do some research on the 250G.

    Cheers.

I mean, pick between the two, then replace the input shaft seal and bearing on that one... you know you made the right choice.
