Just finished key programming on my E38, anybody need a non-divot diamond key blank?

    Hi Guys,

Just finished the programming of the two new aftermarket keys for my E38, and bought a non divot key in error. Anybody want it? Just message me. Also after programming and cutting two new keys I've noticed that only one key will program to the cars door locks at a time. Is there a way to fix this on the ak90? I think I read somewhere once that there is a master key that is always locked into the car and that only that key and one other can be programmed to the locks at a time. Thanks!

No, all the keys can be programmed. After doing the first key don’t put it back in or wait or put the next key in. Just do the button steps with any others. All the keys need to be done at once or it “forgets” the other keys.

Thanks Angrybear! I just followed your instructions and now they're both programmed.

Diego, I had to call around the locksmiths in town to find one who had the right machine to cut. It usually costs around 40-60 dollars per key to cut. I'd strongly recommend doing this yourself. It is a slight pain but the made in USA keys that the dealer uses are junk and will quit over time. When they do they are near impossible to fix and reseal. The aftermarket asian keys simply pop open and snap shut. The other advantage is that the security chips are 100 percent removable should the key somehow break over time. This is not the case on the oem keys. They are soldered onto the board. I even tried to remove the security chip from the stock key and try it on one of my new keys and it wouldn't work.

Be sure you order the correct blade. The key I have shown in my original post does not have the divot in the middle, which is the one I needed and I assume yours is as well since you have a 2001. The keys are dirt cheap it's the cutting that is costly. I got the AK90 programmer for around 30 dollars.
