2016 740i Reliability Question

Hi Fellow BMW Enthusiasts,

I used to participate here when looking for support and doing research on my e39 540i. I LOVED that car but had to sell it after 3 years of ownership, because - at the time - I couldn't deal with the repairs and maintenance. It averaged a cost of $5,000 per year in repairs (not including regular maintenance, which was higher with the sport package and staggered width tires). It was a maintenance whore. The M62 v8 seemed to eat seals and gaskets for breakfast.

I want a BMW again, and I'm hoping that a turbo 6 cyl. with no sport package might be easier to live with. What do you guys think about reliability on the newest generation 740i? I'm looking at 2016 models with less than 35k miles for around $40k.

There certainly more complicated electrically thenever and they have had some serious engine problems of late you will have to do some research
