Color Temperature of OEM low beam for 2012 X5

    Hello All
First post here so hello to everyone and my apologies if this has already been answered.

I've been searching all over the internet and even called my local BMW parts department who couldn't help me. SMH..

Simple question, does anyone know the color temperature (ie 4300K or 6000K etc..) of the OEM BMW Xenon low beam for the 2012 X5?

I know the part number is 63 21 7 217 509 but cant seem to find the color temp info.

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks
    DAC

This may be totally irrelevant, but why do you want to know the color temp? Are you trying to match it with an aftermarket part? Just curious as to what your intentions are.

    OEM is usually 4300-5000k.

If you are trying to match a new bulb to an existing bulb, dont bother as even if the temp is the same, the color will be different because of age. Replace both bulbs

@White94RX Yes, I wanted to match the color of the bulb.
@Ryan's BMW I actually agree with you on replacing both. I was about to pull the trigger on purchasing the Osrams Night Breaker until I saw color temperature and wasn't sure if it was the same color as my original bulbs. These Osrams are 4200K.

This is the first time I'm purchasing bulbs (low beams) for my 2012 X5 xdrive35i.
Do you guys have any recommendations regarding the type of bulbs I should purchase?

    Thanks for your responses btw!

I would buy OEM only. And I think Osram is the original supplier to BMW.

    Thanks for the reply.
I almost died when I heard $235 for a bulb. Arrgh..
Do you think I'll be ok with the Osram?

    I love turbos!
AFAIK, BMW does not make their own bulbs. Instead, Bosch, Osram, Sylvania or Philips make the bulbs for them. Any of those brands would be good and Pelican has them ranging in price from $65 to $95. Genuine BMW is $173.

Osram CBI seem to set the bar for light output. But anything from Osram or Philips will work just fine in terms of quality
