Another E36 LS Swap

Hello all,

I recently purchased a 1997 BMW 328i, and I am currently debating between turbo 328i or an LS swap.
My overall goal for the car is to be around 500hp. This is my first engine swap. I have replaced motors in the past, but do not have any experience fitting a bigger engine into a small car. I am aware both options will be very expensive, I am only here for technical help. I have a lot of question about the swap.

Best places to find used or crate engines and transmissions?
Will I need to shave my engine bay at all? Any fabrication needed?
Relocation tips?
Any tips or comments greatly appreciated.
