Drove my 540 a little harder than I usually do yesterday (fun drive up a big mountain. Didn’t pass second gear and stayed below 5k rpms but the slope was pretty significant.) anyways, once I got to the top, I shut off the engine and did some sightseeing. When I can back to leave after 30 minutes I started the engine and there was the semi-thick cloud of white smoke coming out of the exhaust for about 5 seconds. I’m just wondering what this could be and if there’s anything significantly wrong. Driving the car this morning and more yesterday yielded no more of this smoke but I’m still curious.
You probably blew the pcv on the back of the intake...

How cold was it up at the top of the mountain?
Could have just been some condensation in the exhaust system.
If you still have the scuba tank muffler the one toward the middle of the car will have a lot of water in it, which is normal.
If it's not doing it now I wouldn't worry about it.

There could have been an accumulation of pooled oil in the intake manifold which got sucked up.
This happened to me once after some hard cornering.
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
