Someone how some of the round metal plugs with little prongs have broken loose that allow you to see into the floor when underneath the car. I can see some wiring inside one of the holes and want to get these sealed up - worried about mice or chewing up wiring. Where can I get these or how should I go about fixing this?
Cover lid I believe Part # 41128200462. BMW vendors sell them (the usual suspects). They are installed from the inside of the car and twist about 10 degrees or so to lock in place. The old one may be reusable but they are only about $11. The wiring loom that you are seeing is underneath a protective cover that comes out with a couple plastic nuts and push in retainers, it is easy to remove and move the wires out of the way once you have the carpet pulled up enough to get to it. The toughest part will be pulling back the carpet far enough to get access. Be sure to clean up any rust that may have developed and use some seam sealant when putting the plug back in place. Then wire brush and touch up the undercoating when you are all done.
A shortcut would be wire wheeling the undercoating, paint and primer down to bare metal applying a sheet metal patch (18 to 20 gauge) from the underside with some high quality auto body panel adhesive, then prime, paint and undercoat the patch from underneath.

Here's a picture of that area from my roll bar install back in 2002:

With the seats out of the car, remove the lower seatbelt rails. Starting at the rear, pull the carpet out from under the plastic door sill guards as far forward as needed, then fold it inward in flaps as shown. Note how both sides are held together with a bungee cord. This exposes the floor and its wiring without having to mess with the center console. For reassembly the carpet can be pushed back under the sill guards with a screwdriver or a plastic trim removal tool.
