    Wheel offsets for 93 740l. 93 is a E32?

    I want to install 18" style 37 wheels on my 93 740l.
The stock rim is 20mm offset.
I purchased 2 rims for $150., which are in pretty good shape.
One rim is 9 1/2×18 offset 25mm. This one fits.
The front is 8×18 offset 13mm. Sticks out. So l'm asking if I go to 25mm should it fit?
Also wondering what year and models have these wheels?
Thanks for your time! I'm kinda new at the BMW game

    Welcome to the forum.

I'm not quite understanding why anyone would buy one wheel for each axle, especially when one of them doesn't fit?

Just go to Tirerack.com, enter the car, and look at the choices of aftermarket wheels. That will likely give you the info you need to buy 4 wheels that fit. Offsets are provided.

I was wondering if l could put the rim that doesn'the fit, on a mill and use a fly cutter to machine off the mat. How about clearance with the caliper?

As l said l got them both for $150. I wanted to get them to see what l was up against.
The car was wasted on one side. That'said why so cheap
    It was a package deal.

Are you hitting the struts, or the fenders?

If you are hitting the fender, yes you will need to find a rim with a higher ET.

If you are hitting the struts, then you can use a spacer to push it out.

'93 is the E32 chassis, 20mm is the correct offset
It is well known that 18" wheels will make this car ride like shit, it wasn't designed for them. Any suspension wear will be magnified ten fold as well. If you choose form over function don't say you weren't warned.
Ditch those silly wheels that don't fit anyway ($150 is no bargain for a pair of mismatched garden hose reels) and buy a proper set that actually fit. E38 wheels in 16" are inexpensive, FIT and readily available.

8X18 ET13 offset is the oem size for the front m-parallel wheels on the e38 and e31. What exactly do you mean by "doesn't fit"? et13 on an 8" wheel should be about perfect offset on the front of an e32. What tire size are you using? If the wheels have the stock e38 tires on them they are way to big, and will rub on an e32.

Sounds like they're E38 wheels, which means the tyres would be the wrong size (diameter) for E32 to begin with.

I've run 15mm offset tyres on mine (from E31 8 series) with no problem... but on 225 width tyres.
Maybe a 225/60R18 tyre on the front would suit, and would probably track better on the road with the E32's rather sensitive front suspension set up.
