As title says, went to the garage this afternoon heard a beeping coming from the 850, thought at 1st the trickle charger, then the radio alarm. Put in code for the radio continued beeping, then noticed it was behind and to the left of glove box. A few years ago I bought a Non air bag steering wheel and IIRC I unplugged part of a warning system to keep it from throwing codes that was in the vicinity of where my beeping is coming from. Any ideas?
That sounds like the IHKA mixing flaps trundling around - they sing away for a while when the car is first opened. However, if you have done nothing with the car for over 16 minutes it should have stopped.

Just walked back out to check and it is still doing it. Doesn't sound like flaps, constant beep, like a time bomb from an old James Bond movie when they show the timer ticking down down. I could here it as soon as I walked in 2nd car over and doors shut.
Went to check on again today, beeping is coming from small front fottwel speaker. Disconnected grounds and reattached entered radio code hoping to reset. No luck still beeping. Any suggestions?
https://imgur.com/a/AVAMm2i link to picture. It is an alarm on the panel below glove box right side I unplugged the white wire and it stopped. Is it anything important?

That's the 'acoustic device' that produces all the bongs and alarms (often called the gong - or the 'lady of the bongs') - without it you will not get any acoustic warning for lamp failure - I would guess that you have removed the reversing warning connection (which was only activated on Japanese models) so you may not lose any functions.....

Thanks Timm. The computer display says my tag light is out but that has been a week or so but the sound just started. Could that be the cause? It never stops even with the ignition off.
No, something has gone wrong, possibly with the acoustic device itself - you should only get warnings with the ignition on.

Thanks again Timm, it seemed odd to me that it was going off continuously.
I have the same beeping sound but it barely happens. I just drive casually and sometimes it would beep. It never happens 2 days in a row as well
