Google search for a BMW MKIV owners manual PDF (version)...down load it and look for GPS recalibration instructions.

Or just google for BMW GPS recalibration instructions.

Or go to the www.newtis.info website, type in the last 7 digits of your VIN, then type "recalibrate GPS" in the search box and see if there are instructions.

Thank you as usual Q. I purchased a MKIV for my e39 from someone out of California and didn’t know how to reset it. Needless to say, the car thought it was in the Pacific Ocean. It now knows were it is...safely out of the water. 😂

Great! Glad both of you got your Nav's to recognize your location & recalibrate.

And yes...thanks to Edwin (our dear Dutch brother) for the video. I recognized the voice right away...which made me secure in posting the video. I laughed on the inside while listening to the first few minutes of the video...as he spoke in English...but the Nav display was in Dutch. It's amazing how the e38 has made the world a "smaller" community.

Well, turns out it is not entirely correct. I updated it and it appears the car is having issues finding true north; what controls this? Is there a way to reset that piece?

The only other thing I can come up with is this information from the TIS about the various nav units...I used my 06 e53 to find the data since it came from the factory with the MK4: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...essage/XOMGHBA
