Super wide ACS Type 2 Rennsport wheel fitment help

So I just acquired a set of custom ACS wheels, they look incredible but the question is if I can fit them, so need help from some wheel gurus.
What tires would I need to if I hope to mount these wheels on the e31?
    Specs:
    Front, 18x10.5 ET 13
    Rear, 18x12.5 ET 1
    72.56 bore size.

Great wheels! But the ET on the rears might cause a problem as that pushes them out towards the wheel arches - and at 12.5J you are going to need wider tyres than the normal maximum of 285 - in fact 305 is slightly narrower compared to the alloy which is not recommended for safety (but is often done).

So, my thoughts are that the rears with the correct tyres (305/30 R18) are going to need the arches rolled to fit - especially with an offset of 1.

    Hi Ed,

Rather than roling the rear fenders, consider new barrels to convert the 12.5Js to 9.5Js for the front, and run the 10.5Js on the rear. It appears that your lips are all the same width, 2 or 2.5"?

I'm running these same wheels on my 850Ci, as you may recall.

    Cheers,

    Steve

Hey Steve, I think its the lips that would need to be reduced not the barrels, front lips are 3 1/2 and rears are 5 1/2.

I had similar issues with my custom throwing stars - the rears were just too wide with a similar ET - I needed rolled arches and had to used the "stretched" tyre approach - it just worked bu the ride was awful.

I think you could get away with swapping the front lips to the rear wheels and getting slightly smaller lips for the front

I agree with Jinbal--use the 3.5" lips with the 7" barrels as your rears, and get 2.5" lips to replace the 5.5" lips and use those on the fronts. ETs on the rears will be ~11.
With a similar configuration I'm running 265/35s up front and 285/35s in the rear.

Awesome, thanks guys, that's what I will do! Any suggestions for companies to buy lips?

This is what a 305/30/20 look like on an 11 inch rim, at stock height.
Between the wheel well and the tire is less than a finger's width and well you can see the clarence on the outside.
This tire calculator may help you
    http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp
From the work I did to make my rims fit, you may have to flare your fenders to fit that rim if you want to keep them at 12.5 inches.
Test fit the rims and measure twice ( 4 times if the afternoon involves a few beers )
    I hope this helps

    Hello Steve,

Can you tell me what size, width, and ET you are running? Wha was your reasoning for choosing 285s for rear? 265/35 in front that is impressive! What et and how you are clearing the suspension parts?

I am ordering 19s in throwing stars like Jinbal and like the MK Motorsport figment but in 19s. My Brembo BBK did not clear the MKs.

MK setup as you probably know:

    9.5x18 Front 3" lip and 5mm ET
11x18 Rear with in excess of 4" lip and 21mm ET

And my Brembo BBK are below two piece:

I tried 18" rims on CD05001CIA with Low Profile tires (Pezzuzi P1's IIRC)) so that tires would not rub the spring cup on the front strut. The problem was the jarring feeling of EVERY LITTLE stone and crack in/on the pavement. CD05001CIA has M-Sport suspension w/ re-valved Bilsteins, camber plates & sway bars. So I went back to 17" rims. What I learned is that softer suspension may be okay with low profile tires but because you must keep the very low profile tires at high air pressure to keep rims from getting dented, it makes ride fatiguing. ** ZR tire rating **

Yes, the issue you are having is the Bilstiens which M6bigdog has addressed many times. I had blistein on my 840 car with eibach and YUK in san francisco bay area!

I kind of have it nailed down what suspension works for me. I have 19” Hartge Classics on there on my S70 car. I am on M Tech rears and H&R fronts with Greg K sways bars.
