    Yikes. Robert you might want to escalate that on the list. You don't want to ruin another DME, and that problem won't go away for sure. T-stat is an easy job compared to to what you had to go through for that floorboard!

    Actually you can change the electronic one for a fixed 88C version out of a Euro 740D if you like... There's threads and a part number here, it used to be hard to get from Europe but I think ECS started carrying it... DME may throw a code unless you tweak for it but that can be fixed for you (since you have spare ECU that'd be the easy way to do it... get that one coded while you drive on the existing one...)

    That looks like dog crap, like GG said replace it now.
    The ground shoes (lots of brown wires) near the fuse blocks need fix'n too.

    thermostat ordered stat.... in anticipation of new thermostat and to satisfy my curiosity.... i pulled the electrical connection off the thermostat housing, it was clean without any corrosion. i was expecting more green goop.... but connection was clean.....

    here is a shot of the fuse bus all cleaned. and i found 2 unconnected plugs in the headlight wiring harnessesfuse panel clean.jpgtstat plug.jpgmystery plug 2.jpgmystery plug.jpg

    That's the same fuse box? Wow it cleaned up really nice. Might want to put some deox stuff on it.
    Those headlight connectors are for the HID motors that adjust the lights up/down.
