You will want to get a microfiber wrapped pool noodle or comparable to put in the fold of the window when down. It helps prevent creasing. The boot cover is a PITA if you have to constantly put on/off but they look nice when you go to cars&coffee events

This. The only time I've ever used mine has been to Cars and Coffee or when I would go for a drive knowing it wasn't going to rain and that my next stop was back in my garage. I didn't have a glove box installed at last C&C event (still don't haha), but at least the car looked finished from the outside.

If you do find one, and want to use it with a factory wind deflector, you'll need longer Tenax screws, available on eBay for under $15. I bought mine in chrome for no particular reason.

I used a 36” x 3” diameter pool noodle for just a few days and the round ends started to put creases in the window. Have switched to a rolled up beach towel. Mine will be in all summer, so any crease would be bad. The pool noodle also prevented lowering the top all the way making the tonneau cover installation next to impossible. The towel being soft provides adequate support, but gives just the right amount.

My wind deflector is a Windblox which clears the tonneau without modifications.

When I got the car in Fall of 2012 I could not find a pool noodle, so I used two pieces of foam pipe insulation, one inside the other, cut to a little less than the width of the window. It did put a wrinkle in the plastic at each end, so after that I just laid a towel over the window.
A month ago I found a pool noodle and cut it to 38" so it extended past the window. It did prevent the top from going down as far as before. It went down far enough to look OK with no cover. I did not try my folding OE cover, and can see how it might not fit. But I do think my fabric Roadster Solutions cover will fit.
This morning I raised the top to check the situation. The noodle had kept the plastic distortion free, but the ends of the noodle were pinched by the frame, no doubt why the top did not go down the last inch. I have a manual top, but I wonder whether this would hurt a powered top.
I will use the noodle again if I can figure out how to position it so the frame fits the grooves in its ends.

I resorted to a rolled up microfiber towel placed in the fold of the window and it works well with a power top. I can lower fully and use the boot cover with no problems
