Question 2009 E70 Backup camera options

Hi Guys, new on the forum (1st post).

i have a 2009 E70 (loving it) it does NOT factory backup camera or navigation... now i know i can get a rearview mirror that has front and back cameras, do the wiring and call it a day or do the more costly option of getting a whole new stereo/display, but i would like to have it a stock and close to factory as i can get. So my question is: Does the factory my display have a connection to a "factory" back up camera? if i get an OEM back up camera that comes in the form of the trunk handle will i be able to connect it to the factory display that does not have backup camera or navigation? i can see that the trunk handle has the space for a camera but its filled in but im worried that the radio/display simply does not have the input needed.

Hope my questions makes sense, feel free to drop a link to previous posts that went over this topic i will make sure to look thought them.

    thanks!

I do remember, but that was well before I got this 650i... especially with the top up and the extra small back window!!!
I too am searching for a backup camera that will install into the existing hardware.... Anybody out there got suggestions, or ideas???

I have seen aftermarket camera systems that use the factory I-drive display when activated.

Yea tell that to my female counterpart that already backed into a poll, just trying to prevent from any further damage and unnecessary fixes.

Even with the idrive displays that did not have navigation or backup cameras from the factory?

I can't remember whether or not it had that. But it shouldn't matter. A video signal is a video signal. Only difference is the size of the screen.

Maybe you need to visit a proper car stereo shop in your area.
