So I have a e90 and I have 17s on it OEM wheels but I blew my 2 rear wheels and they are hard to find they are 255/40zr17 now I'm trying to figure out what is a good set up for tires I heard if stretching them on my OEM but idk what route to take anyone can help plz ??
Don't understand the question. If your wheels are sized appropriately for those 255s, get more 255s.
Are you gonna eat that?
Many of these cars have the tire options on the driver door pillar.
You can often run a square (225 front and rear) or staggered setup (245r (rwd)/255r (awd) /225f).
Agreed though. Need clarification on the question.
Stretch tires? You mean like put narrow tires on a wide rim? Well, if you're putting 20" chrome spinners on a lifted 1981 Caprice with beetle-wing doors and bright iridescent paint with a flame job, then yes, absolutely.

The original post is somewhat incoherent, but I think I get the question.
The answer is that "stretching" tires by installing a narrower tire can be done to a mall degree, but it hurts your traction and handling. Reducing the size of the rubber contact patch with the road reduces traction and also changes the handling characteristics the manufacturer built in. There is a reason those wheels and tires came with the car.
For your safety and to keep the car handling well, either use one of the OEM wheel and tire size combinations, or change both and use a +1 approach to reduce sidewall depth (which may result in tire damage from potholes). You can Google +1 and learn more about it at Tirerack.com.
