Hey guys,
So i finished throwing an s52 in my 325i and it seems like I have 2 lingering problems. I have a p1145 code which directs me to the 3/2 valve or fuel control valve (whatever you would like to call it), I was planning on replacing that, but at the same time I have a misfire going on too. I pulled all the plugs and only cylinder 2 looked fouled (maybe 50 miles on them), clearly running rich in that cylinder. Swapped the plug to a new one (the one I took out was basically brand new) and it's still doing it, going to grab another coil pack to throw in as well.
Would a bad coil pack be causing a cylinder to be running rich or is there something else going on? And is it possible that the 3/2 valve would be causing the misfire? The fact that it was a single cylinder makes me think it's not the 3/2 valve causing it. Any input?
I would think that if the 3/2 valve or FPR was bad, it would do it on all the cylinders, thus giving you a rich condition on all the cylinder. So the next thought is after you swapped/tested the coil, and still getting a fouled plug is to look at the injector.

Note that a single injector running rich, or lean, on one bank will cause the other 2 to run the opposite direction, because the DME can only see three cylinders at a time.
I'd recommend sending your injectors off to RC Injection, for complete testing, service, cleaning, and "blueprinting"....for $25 per injector.

Perfect, thank you guys. Gonna swap the coil around and see if it follows then if it still happens go up to the injector. Will report back!
